About Zip Top

Serial inventor and entrepreneur, Rebecca Finell, is no stranger to product design and start-ups – with Zip Top being her fourth venture. Finell launched her first company Boon in 2004, just one week after she graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in industrial design. Boon’s first product the Frog Pod, designed to keep bath toys clean and dry, was inspired by Finell's toddlers. In 2007, she founded Keen Distribution to help other baby companies—which included the Bumbo brand—with product line extensions, brand development and sales to large US stores. Rebecca describes her third company, Finell, as her "creative outlet".  Finell's award-winning collections include origami-inspired handbags with unique patented utilities, silicone placemats that join seamlessly to make an infinite runner, and unique home décor and tabletop. 

Rebecca launched Zip Top in late 2018, as a collection of reusable silicone containers designed to redefine household storage. She believed that unless the product made life easier, people were unlikely to change their single-use plastic habits. Zip Top containers were designed to be more versatile than any other storage option in the market. They can be used in the microwave, dishwasher, and freezer -- and have countless uses in the kitchen and beyond. Their patented design stands up, stays open and zips shut, unlike anything that exists in the world! Zip Top containers are plastic-free and endlessly reusable, made with 100% platinum silicone, and are proudly made in the USA.

Zip Top was launched through crowdfunding and raised $2.1 million from almost 20,000 backers. The brand has already won an International Design Excellence Award, Gold German Design Award and was named a Good Housekeeping Editors’ Pick at the 2019 International Home + Housewares Show.
